On August 2, 2020, the Microsat Space Satellite Popularization Base welcomed the first batch of tourists. Under the careful planning of Technology Advanced Research Center and the Party Branch of the Strategic Demonstration Center and the Second Branch of the Agency for more than two months, by means of graphic exhibition, physical model displaying, planetary exploration demonstration, VR immersive experience, and aerospace cultural and creative activities, visitors can understand the development of Chinese satellites throughout the history and the scientific research results of Microsat, which enlightens children's interest in spaceflight, and wins consistent high praise.

　　Space satellite popularization base was established on July 30 as one of the first industrial tourism companies in Lingang New Area. Director Zhang Yonghe from the Microsat Technology Advanced Research Center, Minister of Industrial Development Yu Huiliang and members from Jinqiao Lingang Company participated in the first day of the open activity.

　　Space Satellite Popularization Base is open to the public aiming to promote the spirit of aerospace and popularizing aerospace education. It contains a satellite exhibition hall, a planetary exploration laboratory, a VR interactive experience area, a satellite command and control hall, a satellite assembly plant, and an EMC darkroom. The operations of the Microsat Space satellite popularization base are as follows.　 

　　1)     Satellite Exhibition Hall

　　The world's first dark matter satellite "Wukong" developed by Microsat, the "Beidou Satellite" that has achieved global network coverage, as well as remote sensing satellites, communication satellites, NanoSat were introduced successively.

　　2)     VR interactive experience area

　　Visitors can wear VR equipment to experience the situation when astronauts leave the cabin.

　　3)     Absorbing material experience area

　　Visitors can get close to the absorbing material so It becomes an internet celebrity.

　　4)     Planetary vehicle area

　　The basic composition and characteristics of the planetary vehicles were introduced, the topography of the planetary surface were displayed, and how the planetary vehicles cross obstacles was explained.

　　5)     Asteroid exploration area

　　The navigation and control of the asteroid landing stage were explained in a simple and profound way.

　　With General Secretary Xi’s speeches of "Science and Technology Powering the Country, Popularizing Science and Benefiting the People" and "Science and Technology Innovation and Popularization of Science are the two wings of realizing innovation and development, and the popularization of science should be placed as important as technological innovation" as the guiding ideology, the team will increase the construction of popularizing science education. The Space satellite popularization base will be built with the characteristics of Microsat in the future.
